NEW DELHI Companies and consumers across India await the July 1 launch of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's unified sales tax regime with bated breath.

The country has set rates for most goods and all services ahead of the much-anticipated new regime that the government touts as consumer-friendly and not inflationary.
