Even as Nestle plans a comeback for its Maggi noodles in India, the company has released three new videos on YouTube with the hashtag WeMissYouToo. Two of these videos have also been shared on the official Meri Maggi Facebook page as well.

The videos are part of Nestle’s exercise to reach out to the consumers who are missing Maggi and could be seen as sign that the noodles will return to India soon.

One video has a man talking about how he now has to talk to his neighbours, (previously he would even avoid looking at them) simply because he needs food and since there’s no Maggi, the “aunty” next door is the only option.

The other video has a man talking about how he now has to rely on home delivery menus, while earlier he would turn them into paper rockets. The third has a boy talking about how he’s never bothered his mother with request for late night meals, since he and his friends clearly relied on Maggi before but now it’s not the same.

Interestingly the name Maggi is never used by any of the characters in the ads. All the videos end with the men saying “We miss you yaar, come back soon” with the Nestle Maggi logo appearing in the end followed by the #WeMissYouToo hashtag.

Nestle has relied on bachelors in the three videos to promote the story of the brand, an apt link given that Maggi has long been the refuge of those who are single and living alone.

The video can be seen as Nestle’s new branding exercise to relaunch the popular Maggi noodles. The Bombay High Court had overturned the ban on Maggi in August.

Nestle India has said that it plans to bring back the popular instant noodles back in the market by end of this year subject to certain clearances. The company, which has taken a hit of Rs 450 crore, including destroying over 30,000 tonnes of the instant noodles since June when it was banned because of alleged excessive lead content, says it will continue with the existing formula of the product and not change the ingredients.

“We will try and target something that is better than that. My desire is to do it before that but let’s see,” Nestle India Managing Director Suresh Narayanan told PTI in an interaction when asked whether Maggi noodles could be back in the market by start of the next year.

With the latest videos, Nestle and Maggi have struck a cord, that for many Indians looking for a quick, cheap meal, Maggi was indeed the common option.
