Boys Basketball Roundup: Lexington and Ashland win

Lexington 58, Orrville 47

Lexington (19-2, 11-2 OCC) defeated Orrville on Friday night in conference action.

Joey Zahn led the Minuteman with 18 points and three 3-pointers. Jonah Yaussy and Cade Stover each recorded a double-double with Yaussy having 14 points and 11 rebounds and Stover having 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Red Riders were led by Luke Smith with 18 points, three 3-pointers and nine rebounds and Nathan Holik with 11 points.

Logan Brewer scored 16 points and John Wolfe had 15 points and three steals for Ashland (11-9, 7-6 OCC) Friday night in the Arrows’ Ohio Cardinal Conference win at West Holmes. Griffin Gerwig added 11 points and 12 rebounds for Ashland.

Chase Wells had 19 points, four assists and three steals for the Knights. Josh Goudy had 11 points and five rebounds and Blaine Hagar had 10 points.

Cardington (10-11, 9-4 MOAC) beat Elgin on the road Friday.

Garrett Wagner led Cardington hitting six 3-pointers to score 19 points. Trey Williams scored 16 points and Skyler Bowling chipped in nine points.

Grant Smith led Elgin with 21 points.

Kirk Manns led Fredericktown (3-16, 3-10 MOAC) with 18 points and three 3-pointers. Jacob Booth scored 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Grant Loy led the Bucks with 19 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double while teammate Jacob Shade had 13 points and 11 rebounds for a double-double.

Owen Adams and Harley Shaum each scored nine points for Colonel Crawford.

Jason Hale led South Central with 21 points, 14 rebounds and two blocks. Brayden Wilhelm had 16 points, six rebounds and five assists.

Colton Stevens led Crestview with 24 points while Joe Stimpert had 12 points and six rebounds. Keegan Leeper chipped in 10 points.

Aaron Spidell led Waynedale with 22 points and seven rebounds. Spidell nailed six 3-pointers. Colten Purdy chipped in 10 points.
