The 2nd annual “Wheels for Meals” Car Show was held July 25 at West End Fairgrounds in Gilbert. It was presented by five car clubs, the Monroe County Cruisers, the Easton Area Corvette Club, the Hi-Winders, the Tri-County Vettes and the Trolley Shop Cruisers. They all got together, planned the show, held raffles, coordinated vendors and managed to collect items for a huge tricky tray and more. The food was provided by Meals on Wheels and was all donated by Anthony & Sons Bakery, Heeps, Inc., Sam’s Club of Easton, The Flour Shop and Vince Paden: Holden Meat. There was music all day provided by Funtime Entertainment and several trophies.

It didn’t take long for the parking lot to start filling up. Classics, muscles, trucks and antiques provided a variety to please every spectator that visited the show. The swap meet was a place to find that hidden treasure or hard to find part.

The proceeds from the show benefited Meals on Wheels of Monroe and Northampton counties. Meals on Wheels delivers nutritious meals, provides friendly visits and safety checks that enable seniors to live nourished and independent lives. A total of $11,000, combined from the two shows, has already been donated to Wheels on Meals.

It was a great show with great weather and all for a great cause. The clubs thank all those who participated and to those who made donations.
