Hartford health insurer Aetna has hired two new members of its senior executive team, including a former CEO of Caesars Entertainment to be the new president for Aetna’s health services organization.

Gary Loveman will join Aetna as an executive vice president and president of Healthagen, which includes the company’s consumer business and seeks to make health care simpler and more affordable. Loveman is the former chairman, CEO and president of Caesars Entertainment Corp., where he oversaw acquisitions, technology implementation and a new employee wellness program.

Aetna also has hired Rick Jelinek as its executive vice president for the upcoming Aetna-Humana integration, following the company’s July announcement that it would purchase Humana for $37 billion. Before starting with Aetna, Jelinek was an operating partner at Advent International, a private equity firm with $28 billion in investments. He also previously served as CEO of OptumHealth, a division of UnitedHealth Group.

Loveman and Jelink will report directly to Aetna CEO Mark Bertolini.
