Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd ASA (RCL) revealed a profit for its first quarter that rose compared to the same period last year.
The company said its bottom line came in at $214.73 million, or $0.99 per share. This was higher than $123.96 million, or $0.57 per share, in last year's first quarter.
Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.92 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.
The company said revenue for the quarter rose 4.7% to $2.01 billion. This was up from $1.92 billion last year.
