Consider renewable energy alternatives

To the editor:

This letter was received in response to “How we can avoid more transmission lines,” published in the Weekend edition, submitted by Whitney Blake of Landrum, S.C.

Dear Ms. Blake,
Thank you for your information on alternative energy, something we are in process of converting to. I guess I feel the big issue with Duke and its proposed transmission lines is the health hazards, the property damage, the los of property values and more. All of those issues could be solved if Duke Energy would consider renewable alternatives themselves. Also it would be beneficial to the five counties concerned if they would just do what they need in their current location in Buncombe County so that the lines do not need to be run at all. If none of that is acceptable the very least they can do it bury the lines to limit the damage.
