Bellingham-based Integral Technologies Inc. has opened a new facility in Detroit, Mich.—called the Detroit Technology Center—which will support expanded research and development of the company’s patented ElectriPlast material, according to the firm.

Integral’s ElectriPlast products are designed to serve the electrical and magnetic shielding needs for a variety of industries, including automotive, aerospace, consumer electronics, cable and alternative energy. The material is an electrically conductive, resin-based plastic, meant to replace traditional shielding metals such as steel or aluminum.

Company leaders said the new Detroit facility will allow for staff expansion and additional resources to meet the needs of Intergral’s growing customer base.
