Jacksonville, Fla. – With business “relatively consistent” across all of its regions, Stein Mart, Inc. enjoyed a mid single digit sales increase last month.
Sales rose 4.7% in December to $198.3 million.
Comps for the five-week month, ended January 2, were up 1.8% on top of a 5.8% comparable store sales increase last year.
For the 48-week year-to-date period, total sales rose 3.4% to $1.29 billion, and comps increased 1.2%.
The company operated 278 stores by the end of December compared to 270 stores last year.
