Parkinson's Disease Foundation (PDF) Presents Expert Information for People with PD; Free CEUs Available for Health Care Professionals

WHAT: What should people with Parkinson’s disease know about nutrition? Find out by joining “Nutrition and Parkinson’s Disease,” the first PD ExpertBriefing in a series of six online seminars hosted by the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation (PDF). Qualifying health professionals have the opportunity to earn free continuing education credits.

WHO: The Parkinson’s Disease Foundation® (PDF®) supports the scientific research and ideas that will improve the lives and futures of people who are touched by Parkinson’s disease. Since its founding in 1957, PDF has invested more than $157 million in research, education and advocacy programs. This PDF PD ExpertBriefing will be presented by Heather Zwickey, Ph.D., Dean of Research and Graduate Studies and Professor of Immunology, National College of Natural Medicine, Portland, OR.

WHY: As many as one million Americans live with Parkinson’s disease, a chronic and progressive movement disorder for which there is no cure. Eating a balanced diet is especially imperative for people with Parkinson’s disease. Getting the right nutrients can help to address symptoms of Parkinson’s such as constipation and loss of bone strength, and help to manage any weight loss or gain related to the disease. This seminar will provide practical tips to help people with Parkinson’s disease to improve nutrition and feel their best.
