Live Nation Entertainment continues global expansion with Live Nation Concerts Germany along with Marek Lieberberg

MUMBAI: Marek Lieberberg and Live Nation Entertainment, who in the past have promoted tours for Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, U2 and Madonna, have now joined hands to form Live Nation Concerts Germany. Germany based Marek, a known promoter who has worked with names like Depeche Mode, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Bublé, Coldplay, Queen and Celine Dion, will now promote concerts and festivals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland beginning 1 January, 2016.

Marek is the fifth largest promoter in the world, and will be CEO of Live Nation Concerts Germany, for which Andre Lieberberg will serve as president. "I have worked with Marek and Andre for over 20 years, and they are clearly among the top promoters in the world. Having them lead Live Nation's concert business for Germany is an ideal fit, and continuing to build on our global scale in concerts provides our sponsors with increased access to fans in an important European market while adding millions of tickets to our Ticketmaster inventory," said Live Nation Entertainment president and CEO, Michael Rapino.

Through this, Live Nation will add over 700 shows and more than 2 million fans to Live Nation's platform of over 23,000 shows for 60 million fans, across more than 40 countries, the company stated. Further, Ticketmaster Germany will serve as the lead ticketing company which sell over 2 million tickets.

Commenting on Live Nation Concerts Germany’s formation, Marek said, "Becoming a part of Live Nation is the dream of every promoter. Gaining access to Live Nation's concert platform and sponsorship team will take our business to another level, and accessing Ticketmaster's leading technology will enable us to reach more fans and provide them with a unique service."

This is not the first major expansion of Live Nation, as it has in the past expanded in Europe and Asia, which is part of the company’s major expansion plan. Despite suffering losses, the company has announced that it will continue its expansion plans.
