Genius Brands International hires Disney digital guru

Genius Brands International has tapped digital specialist Jason Brumbaugh to head up all digital initiatives for the L.A.-based global brand-management company.

Genius Brands International has tapped Jason Brumbaugh to head up all digital initiatives for the L.A.-based global brand-management company.

As VP of digital, Brumbaugh is responsible for overseeing web communities, online marketing and social media engagement. He is also tasked with creating promotional content to increase global awareness GBI brands Baby Genius, Warren Buffett’s Secret Millionaires Club, Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab, Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 (SLAM 7), Psycho Bunny and From Frank.

Brumbaugh brings more than 15 year experience working in the digital world to this newly created position, and was most recently a producer at Disney Interactive Media Group. His resume includes a senior producer role at Hub Network, producer positions at DIC Entertainment and Knowledge Kids Network, creating promotional websites for top brands at Tribal DDB, and he is a member of the Producers Guild of America-New Media.

Earlier this month, GBI announced it will re-launch its Baby Genius property with fresh new designs and toddler-targeted products. Merchandise from Manhattan Toy (soft toys, puppets, wooden puzzles, play sets, other activity toys) and Zak Designs (sippy cups, plates, bowls, flatware) will hit retail shelves in the US later this year.
