Move over, fried Oreos. Soon, there will be a new warm and gooey Oreo treat at fairs, sporting events and convenience stores.
J&J Snack Foods Corp., with Oreo’s blessing, is introducing a line of Oreo Churros that is a hybrid of the fried-dough dessert and the cookies. The company already makes products like funnel cakes, pretzels and Italian ices to sell wholesale to food vendors.
The snacks will come in three varieties: churro sticks, double-twisted churros and bite-sized churros. In a press release, the company said the churros can be served with an Oreo cookie creme dip, rolled in sugar or served with ice cream.
The product debuted at a National Association of Convenience Stores conference in Las Vegas last month, and should be hitting stores soon.
