Energy stocks declined broadly on Wall Street today, with the sector seeing an overall decline of 2.1%.
More broadly, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.4%, the Nasdaq declined 0.3% and the S&P 500 was down 0.4%.
Some of the biggest gainers among energy stocks include:
- McDermott International (MDR): MDR stock is up 2.5% today.
- Alliance Holdings Gp L.P. (AHGP): AHGP stock is up 0.6% today.
- Amerigas Partners L.P. (APU): APU stock is up 0.2%, marking the fifth consecutive day the stock has increased.
Some of the biggest losers among energy stocks include:
- Transocean Inc (RIG): RIG stock is down 6.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Denbury Resources (DNR): DNR stock is down 6.3% today and down 28.3% in the last month.
- Qep Resources (QEP): QEP stock is down 6.1% today.
- Chesapeake Energy Corp (CHK): CHK stock is down 5.9% today and down 25.5% in the last month.
- Southwestern Energy Company (SWN): SWN stock is down 5.3%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Enbridge Energy Management Llc (EEQ): EEQ stock is down 5.4%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Atwood Oceanics (ATW): ATW stock is down 4.9%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- C&J Energy Services Inc (CJES): CJES stock is down 4.8% today and down 22.9% in the last month.
- Continental Resources (CLR): CLR stock is down 4.8%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
- Sm Energy Company (SM): SM stock is down 4.7%, marking the third consecutive day the stock has decreased.
