MANITOWOC, WI (WTAQ) – Fire crews in Manitowoc say no one was hurt after a house fire Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters were call around 4 p.m. to the house in the 900 block of Circle Drive.
Ahead of responding firefighters, a Manitowoc police office used a fire extinguisher and a neighbor helped with a garden hose to prevent the flames from growing due to high winds.
Upon arrival, crews saw black smoke and flames in the rear of the house.
Officials continue to search for the cause, but they believe the fire was accidental. The fire started on the outside of the home where most of the damage occurred.
A neighboring home also sustained heat damage to the exterior. The Red Cross is assisting the family.
