Weight Watchers International Inc Bottom Line Retreats 41% In Q3

Weight Watchers International Inc (WTW) revealed earnings for third quarter that retreated compared to the same period last year.

The company said its profit fell to $22.5 million, or $0.39 per share. This was lower than $38.3 million, or $0.68 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $0.29 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter fell 20.8% to $273.3 million. This was down from $345.2 million last year.
