Among the underlying components of the Russell 3000 index, we saw noteworthy options trading volume today in Apple Inc (NASD: AAPL), where a total of 157,259 contracts have traded so far, representing approximately 15.7 million underlying shares. That amounts to about 44.4% of AAPL's average daily trading volume over the past month of 35.4 million shares. Especially high volume was seen for the $99 strike call option expiring July 15, 2016, with 16,161 contracts trading so far today, representing approximately 1.6 million underlying shares of AAPL.
