Forks Plastics Company Sold for $50 Million

Harvel Plastics has been sold to a Swiss company

A Forks Township that makes plastic pipe systems for industrial use has been sold to a business in Swizterland for $50 million, according to multiple reports.

Harvel Plastics Inc. is located at 300 Kuebler Road. The company has about 150 employees at plants in Forks and Bakersfield, Calif.

Harvel's parent company Detrex Corp. has sold it to Georg Fischer AG in a deal that is expected to be finalized in January.

Harvel manufactures pipes used in water treatment and chemical processes.

Harvel's Forks Township location includes corporate offices and sales/service teams as well as manufacturing, warehouse and distribution facilities, according to the company's website.

Harvel's president, Patrick M. Foose, who lives in Bethlehem, received for excellence in his industry at a convention in October.

Both Lehigh Valley Live and the Morning Call are reporting the sale of Harvel Plastics.
