(WSLS 10) - Questions about the NFL's concussion protocol are being raised after a player was left in the game after it appeared he suffered a head injury.

The play happened late in the St. Louis Rams - Baltimore Ravens game when Rams Quarterback Case Keenum was tackled to the ground - his head hitting the turf.

Keenum immediately grabbed his head and was visibly shaken. He also had trouble getting to his feet.

At no point did the Rams coaches or an unaffiliated spotter, who was at the game to spot cases like this, remove Keenum from the game.

Based on league protocol, the spotter has the power to stop the game to remove a player who may have suffered from a head injury.

So far, the NFL has not commented in the incident.
