Indians right-hander Danny Salazar opens a three-game series against the Angels on Friday night at Progressive Field. Salazar, looking for his 12th win, is coming off a loss to the Yankees.

Who: The Angels vs. the Indians, Friday though Sunday.

TV/Radio: SportsTime Ohio, WTAM AM/1100 and WMMS FM/100.7 will carry the series.

Pitching matchups: LHP Andrew Heaney (5-2, 3.39) vs. RHP Danny Salazar (11-7, 3.30) Friday at 7: 10 p.m.; RHP Garrett Richards (12-10, 3.80) vs. RHP Trevor Bauer (9-10, 4.48) Saturday at 7:10 p.m. and RHP Jered Weaver (6-9, 4.59) vs. RHP Corey Kluber (8-13, 3.43) Sunday at 1:10 p.m.

Season Series: The Angels lead, 2-1. The Angels lead, 324-299, overall.

Friday: Salazar is coming off a loss against the Yankees, allowing four earned runs in 4 2/3 innings. He's 0-1 against the Angels including a six-inning no-decision on Aug. 5. LA's Kole Calhoun is 3-for-6 with two homers and three RBI against Salazar.

Heaney has never faced the Indians. He's coming off a 15-3 loss to Toronto, allowing eight runs in 3 1/3 innings. The Indians are 15-27 in games against left-handed starters.

Saturday: Bauer is coming off a no decision against the Yankees in which he allowed one earned run, but walked six. He is 1-0 against the Angels. Chris Iannetta is 2-for-3 with two RBI against him.

Richards beat the Indians, 5-4, on Aug. 3. Yan Gomes hit a three-run homer off him in the first inning. Richards, who struck out 11 in the win, is 2-2 in his last five starts.

Sunday: Corey Kluber lost to Richards and the Angels on Aug. 3. David DeJesus is hitting .333 (5-for-13) with three RBI against Kluber. In Kluber's last start, he struck out 11 Cubs in 7 2/3 innings in a no decision.

Weaver has won his last two starts since coming off the disabled list. He's 9-4 in 19 starts against the Tribe. Lonnie Chisenhall is hitting .412 (7-for-17) and Carlos Santana .522 (12-for-23) against him.

Overall: The Indians have won six of their last eight home games and five of seven overall. The Angels have lost five of their last seven games to drop out of the AL's second wild card spot. They did take two out of three from the Tigers at Comerica Park before coming to Cleveland.

Injuries: Angels -- OF Colin Cowgill (right wrist), 2B Taylor Featherston (back), 3B David Freese (right index finger), 2B Johnny Giavotella (medical condition), OF Matt Joyce (concussion), RHP Cory Rasmus (right forearm), RHP Tyler Skaggs (right elbow), LHP C.J. Wilson (left elbow) are on the disabled list. Indians - RHP Carlos Carrasco (right shoulder), INF Chris Johnson (infected left hand), RHP Cody Anderson (left oblique), LHP TJ House (left shoulder), LHP Nick Hagadone (left elbow) and RHP Gavin Floyd (right elbow) are on the disabled list.

Next: The Indians open a nine-game trip with a three-game series in Toronto starting Monday night at Rogers Centre.
