MV <strong>ESCO</strong> STYLE SWITCHES<br />
<strong>Powell</strong> MV <strong>ESCO</strong> <strong>Style</strong> <strong>Switches</strong> have been an industry<br />
leader with proven designs in service for more than<br />
40 years. They are engineered and built with a high<br />
degree of quality that delivers switching requirements<br />
beyond those of the normal life cycle of most medium<br />
voltage switches. <strong>Powell</strong> MV <strong>ESCO</strong> <strong>Style</strong> switches<br />
are ideally suited for applications where the user<br />
needs to isolate, disconnect, transfer, or sectionalize<br />
medium voltage distribution systems and equipment.<br />
The rugged design allows for installation indoors,<br />
outdoors, in underground vaults subject to flooding,<br />
or mounted on power transformers.<br />
LOADBREAK<br />
<strong>Powell</strong> loadbreak switch designs incorporate a<br />
unitized switch assembly surrounded with an<br />
insulating medium that can be either Oil or SF 6 Gas.<br />
Designs are available through 38kV and 600A for both<br />
oil and SF 6 designs. These have been in service for<br />
more than 30 years and have a proven track record for<br />
dependability.<br />
TRANSFER<br />
Cost effective transfer switch designs for your<br />
AC distribution system can be tailored to fit your<br />
exact needs. <strong>Powell</strong> transfer switches are available<br />
in a variety of arrangements, with our patented<br />
ArcWhipper mechanism or vacuum interrupters for<br />
the source side, and with or without fault protection<br />
on the load side. This unique flexibility provides you<br />
with an array of size and system protection options so<br />
that you pay for just what you need. Available through<br />
38kV and 600A; and with automatic or manual transfer.<br />
SPEED CHANGING<br />
Powered by Safety ®<br />
A tough and rugged method of fundmental speed<br />
control for multi-speed MV motors. Remote controlled<br />
and automatic operated switching for ease of<br />
application and use. Suitable for use of motors rated to<br />
15kV.
