Albert Square favourite Whitney, who is over the moon to be expecting Lee’s baby, will be shocked to learn she has the sexually transmitted disease this week.
Terrified about what this means for her unborn child, Whitney struggles to get her head around the diagnosis.
Meanwhile, Lee starts to panic that the truth about his drunken one-night-stand with Abi Branning will finally come out.
As viewers know, Lee contracted the disease from Abi who caught it from her then boyfriend Ben Mitchell.
And as Whitney grows increasingly paranoid around the Carters, she starts to wonder if there is more to the story than Lee is letting on.
It leads her to confront the cheating pair.
But viewers will have to wait to see if Lee or Abi will finally admit what they did behind Whitney’s back.
An EastEnders insider said: “Following her diagnosis, Whitney is mortified.
“She starts to feel more and more paranoid around the Carters as she is worried that they all think she cheated on Lee.
“She has only just discovered she’s pregnant and couldn’t be happier.
“Lee keeps quiet and pretends he has no idea about how she caught the disease.
“But as she starts to think about it all she realises there is more to the story than Lee is letting on.
“All it takes is for someone to let slip that Abi had the disease for Whitney to put two and two together. And with Abi back working at the Queen Vic it’s all going to get a little awkward before Whitney confronts the pair.”
