Cheryl A. Portner has joined Saxton & Stump LLC as a health care litigation paralegal. She joins Saxton & Stump with over 13 years of paralegal experience. She was most recently employed as a litigation paralegal with Fowler, Hirtzel, McNulty & Spaulding LLP.

Jeremie L. Patrick was been hired by SFC Wealth Advisors, Inc., a subsidiary of SF&Company, CPAs and Business Advisors, as a junior wealth advisor who will assist clients in the firm's York area and Harrisburg area offices. He previously interned with an insurance and investment company in the Lancaster area.

Harrison Sallada was hired by the York County Economic Alliance as its marketing coordinator.

Sarah Lohman was named chief clinical officer at Hospice of Central Pennsylvania.A nurse for more than 12 years, Lohman's extensive career in clinical care includes positions as pediatric intensive care nurse at the Children's National Medical Center; staff nurse at Aroostook Medical Center and Children's Hospital of Michigan; clinical educator and then clinical nurse manager for Meritus Health and chief nursing officer at HealthSouth.

Barry J. Schoch, former PennDOT secretary, has rejoined McCormick Taylor's Harrisburg area office in an advisory role. Following a 25-year career in the private sector, Schoch served as Pennsylvania's secretary of transportation from 2011 to 2015. He was appointed by former Gov. Tom Corbett. Most recently, Schoch served as a senior advisor on infrastructure to Gov. Tom Wolf. Schoch first joined the firm in 1995.

Dafna Reiner was selected as a biologist for Gettysburg National Military Park and Eisenhower National Historic Site. She is currently the biologist at Hopewell Culture National Historical Park in Chillicothe, Ohio, a position she has held since 2008.

Dr. William Bird was named interim chair of the Department of Family and Community Medicine at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He assumed the role on July 1 following the departure of James Herman, who is now the dean of the School of Community Medicine at the University of Oklahoma-Tulsa.

Thomas Stoessel joined Penn State Health as chief network development officer. Previously, Stoessel served as senior vice president for strategy and business development at PinnacleHealth System.

Eric Strucko was named Penn State's associate vice president for finance and business, and controller for Penn State College of Medicine. Before joining Penn State, Strucko served as the chief financial officer of the University of Virginia Physicians Group, the physician practice plan for the University of Virginia Health System.

Griff Benner has joined WHTM abc27 as assistant news director. Benner worked for the Charlottesville Newsplex prior to joining abc27. He has also worked at WHP-TV, WOLO-TV, WIKD-TV and KPVI-TV.

Chris Yu was named nightside executive producer at WHTM abc27. Yu comes from New Bern, North Carolina where he was the WCTI NewsChannel 12/ WFXI/WTDO FOX website manager.

Yoni Schwartz was named senior vice president, client, growth and development at Target Media in Swatara Twp. He was previously employed by KYW Newsradio 1060 for 13 years as a senior account executive.

John M. Murphy has joined A.P. Williams Inc. in Susquehanna Twp. as project manager and estimator. He has 26 years of experience in the construction industry. He was previously vice president of estimating with the Quandel Construction Group.

PROMOTIONS (or changes within the company)

Alex Baloga was promoted to vice president of external relations at The Pennsylvania Food Merchants Association, a statewide association representing the retail food industry. Baloga joined the association in 2013 as director of government relations. Last fall, he took on additional responsibilities and became director of government and public relations.

Jay A. Goldman, a certified public accountant was promoted to partnership at Boyer & Ritter. Prior to joining the firm in November of 2009, he was the chief financial officer of a $250-million, 350-employee automotive group, based in Baltimore. He also has 15 years of public accounting experience working with a large regional firm and a national firm.

Bill Patrick was promoted to director of custom designed homes and remodeling for Lancaster County-based EGStoltzfus. After six years at the company, he will now lead the custom homes and remodeling divisions. He has more than 25 years of experience as a residential designer, construction manager and business owner. In 1990, he founded William J. Patrick Inc., a residential design and build firm. After operating the business for 20 years, he joined the EGStoltzfus team as senior designer and division manager of residential remodeling.

Myles Snyder was promoted to digital executive producer and will be taking charge of strategy planning for digital content at WHTM abc27.

Nicholas Grasberger, president and chief executive officer of the Harsco Corporation and member of the board of directors will assume the leadership of the Harsco Metals & Minerals segment on an interim basis effective immediately, following the departure of Metals & Minerals president, Richard Lundgren to pursue other opportunities.

James P. Helt of Penn Twp., York County will be promoted to president of Adams County-based ACNB Bank effective September 1, 2015. Thomas A. Ritter will continue to serve as chief executive officer of ACNB Bank, and will continue to serve as president and chief executive officer of ACNB Corporation. Helt, 48, currently serves as executive vice president of banking services of ACNB Bank, a position he has held since September 2008. Prior to joining ACNB Bank, Helt worked for Susquehanna Bank as regional president for the Hanover/Adams and York Region during 2007 and 2008. Prior to its acquisition by Susquehanna Bank, Helt worked for Community Banks as regional president for the Hanover/Adams Region from March 1997 until November 2007.

Kirk Fox assumed the duties of CEO at Riverview Financial Corporation replacing Robert Garst. Brett Fulk will assume the duties of president. Fox, an original founder of Riverview at its formation in 2008, has served as Riverview's president since its creation. Fulk has served as Riverview's COO since June, 2011. Fulk will also be joining Riverview's board of directors to take the seat left vacant by Garst's departure. Garst, who served as Riverview's CEO since 2008, will remain as an emeritus member of the board.

Dan Leonard of New Oxford, was promoted to journeyman third class at Adams Electric Cooperative Inc.

Boyer & Ritter LLC in East Pennsboro Twp. has announced the following: Nate Yost and Mariya Cawley were promoted to manager; Senahid Zahirovic, Jeremy Scheibelhut, Shane Fisher, Kim Marple, Ben Bostic and Jaclyn Davidson were promoted to supervisor; Tricia Lauchle was promoted to tax supervisor; David Dukes, Casey Surridge, Garrett Ofenloch, Travis Walker, Robert Watson and Cierra Neil were promoted to senior associate.

Allyson Hornbaker, a cerified public accountant at Cumberland County-based Padden, Guerrini & Associates, P.C. was named partner effective July 1, 2015. She will serve as a partner in the senior living and employee benefit plan divisions of the practice.

Joanna Drexel-Blevins was promoted to senior vice president, digital and strategy at Target Media in Swatara Twp. She was previously associate vice president of media strategies.

Rachael Ricords was promoted to senior vice president, media at Target Media in Swatara Twp. She was previously the media director.

APPOINTMENTS

Derek Dissinger, a lawyer at Barley Snyder was elected president of the board of directors for The Literacy Council of Lancaster-Lebanon. He will serve a two-year term in this role. The Literacy Council's mission is to promote literacy and help adults reach their reading, writing, math and English communication goals through personalized instruction. He is a member of the firm's Finance and Creditors' Rights and Real Estate groups.

Susan Blue, president and CEO of Lancaster County-based Community Services Group was elected as the new board chair for the National Council for Behavioral Health.

Dr. Robert Harbaugh, director of the Penn State Hershey Neuroscience Institute and distinguished professor and chair of Penn State Hershey Neurosurgery, was named president of the Society of Neurological Surgeons. Harbaugh recently completed a one-year term as the president of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and a six-year term as director of the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

Joel Menchey, president of York County-based Menchey Music Service was elected secretary of the National Association of Music Merchants' board of directors. The association is comprised of approximately 9,900 member companies located in 102 countries. He previously served on the association's board of directors from 2007 to 2010.

BUSINESS AWARDS

William C. Costopoulos, an attorney and founding partner of Costopoulos, Foster & Fields was honored by the The Legal Intelligencer with a lifetime award. Costopoulos was previously an assistant district attorney in Dauphin County. His practice includes the areas of criminal law, appeals and personal injury litigation. He has taught trial advocacy as an adjunct professor at Dickinson School of Law, and is the author of five books.

Sacunas, a marketing agency based in Dauphin County was named a winner in two categories of the international 2015 Summit Creative Awards competition. On behalf of clients TE Connectivity and Lebanon Transit, Sacunas took home the Silver and Bronze awards for the B-to-B Interactive Media category and Not-for-Profit Campaign category, respectively. Winners were selected from a field of more than 5,000 submissions, spanning 23 countries. The Silver Award noted excellence for the 3D Intelligent Building entry in the B-to-B Interactive Media category, a submission on behalf of the Intelligent Buildings unit of TE Connectivity. The winning submission was an interactive 3D Intelligent Building experience, hosted on TE's website. The Bronze Award for the Not-for-Profit Campaign category noted the success of "The Break-Up" campaign, created on behalf of Lebanon Transit. This campaign encouraged first-time riders to "break up" with their cars as if they were ending a romantic relationship, jumping off the close attachment many drivers have with their cars.

Commuter Services of Pennsylvania, in partnership with the National Center for Transit Research at the University of South Florida, has recognized five local employers as "Best Workplaces for Commuters" in 2015. The employers who have excelled at implementing green commuter programs for their employees include: Fleetwood Fixtures, Berks County; PetSmart Distribution Center, Berks County; Bayer Healthcare, Lebanon County; County of Dauphin, Dauphin County and United Natural Foods Inc., York County.

Benchmark Construction Company based in Lancaster County was awarded the General Contractor Excellence in Safety award and eight Excellence in Construction awards during the Associated Builders and Contractors, Keystone Chapter Excellence in Construction Awards Gala. Benchmark Construction won Awards of Excellence for the following projects: Dutch Gold Honey Warehouse expansion, Lancaster County; Lancaster Heart & Vascular Institute Heart Center Clinic, Lancaster County; Millersville University South Quad Student Housing - Phase 1, Lancaster County and Ware Mansion renovation at Ware Presbyterian Village, Chester County. Benchmark Construction won Awards of Merit for the following projects: Diakon Lutheran Social Ministries - Twining Village Single Story Apartments, Bucks County; Luthercare Administrative Office Renovation, Lancaster County; Presbyterian Senior Living - Vista Ridge Independent Living Building and Dining Pavilion, Chester County; Whitford Country Club Additions and Renovations, Chester County. Since the quality award program's inception in 1990, Benchmark Construction was honored 131 times with 74 Awards of Excellence and 57 Awards of Merit.

The Masonic Village Farm earned the 2015 Pennsylvania Cow/Calf Beef Quality Assurance award which was awarded by the Pennsylvania Beef Council. These efforts include monitoring and improving cattle care, providing sufficient feedlot time for cattle before going to market to increase quality and value, housing cattle outside year-round to improve herd health and being the first farm operation in Pennsylvania to complete the National Cattlemen's Beef Association's National Feedyard Assessment. The Masonic Village Farm is located on the 1,460-acre property of the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown, a continuing care retirement community. It consists of 600 acres with 450+/- head of Shorthorn and Shorthorn/Maine/Angus cattle, as well as corn, soy and hay crops.

RKL eSolutions, an information technology consulting subsidiary of Lancaster County-based Reinsel Kuntz Lesher LLP, Certified Public Accountants and Consultants was ranked 46 on the 2015 installment of Accounting Today's annual assessment of value-added resellers. Accounting Today's annual list is an ranking of the top value-added resellers of accounting and accounting-related software by revenue generated during the previous year.

Citizens Bank was named one of the most reputable banks in the country, according to the American Banker/Reputation Institute Survey of Bank Reputations. Citizens Bank placed ninth out of 32 banks based on customer scores on the 2015 list of America's most reputable banks. Citizens' 2015 customer results showed the fourth-best year-over-year improvement in the industry. Conducted annually by American Banker and Reputation Institute, the survey asks respondents to rank banks according to factors of corporate reputation that the Reputation Institute applies across industries.

Amey Sgrignoli, Belco's president and CEO, was a recipient of the Central Penn Business Journal's 2015 Women of Influence Award. The Women of Influence program recognizes female leaders in the central Pennsylvania region who have made positive contributions to their businesses and communities.

Danielle Wise was ranked one of the best agent's in Pennsylvania by Real Trends, a privately-held publishing, communications and consulting company based in Colorado.  She is a realtor with Exit Realty Capital Area.

J. Michael Brill & Associates Inc. a Cumberland County-based consulting civil engineering firm was recognized by the National Society of Professional Surveyors for their entry in the 2015 National Map/Plat Design Competition. The firm was awarded "First Place" in the ALTA/ACSM Survey Maps category. This national award was presented to the firm for their entry that also won top honors at the statewide competition of the Pennsylvania Society of Land Surveyors. J. Michael Brill & Associates Inc. has received awards each year in the Pennsylvania statewide competition since 1992.

The American Institute of Real Estate Professionals has recognized Matthew Greene, a sales specialist at Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage, as a 2015 - 10 Best Real Estate Professionals for Client Satisfaction. He is based out of Cumberland County.

Brian McCarver of Carlisle and Jonathan Freeman of Camp Hill, both of Stonebridge Financial Group were recognized by the Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Network as members of the firm's Premier Advisors Program, a distinction that reflects their achievement of professional success by meeting or exceeding Wells Fargo Advisors Financial Networks' high standards as measured by one or more of the milestones for revenue generation, educational attainment and client-service best practices.

Holy Spirit-A Geisinger Affiliate was named one of the 2015 Health Care's "Most Wired" for the third consecutive year. Only 21 Pennsylvania hospitals, earned the "Most Wired" distinction by the American Hospital Association's Health Forum and the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives. The 2015 Most Wired survey is an industry barometer measuring information technology use and adoption among hospitals nationwide.

PinnacleHealth's West Shore Hospital was named one of the most beautiful hospitals in the United States by Soliant Health, a specialty healthcare staffing provider and part of Adecco Group. West Shore Hospital was one of only two hospitals in Pennsylvania to make the list. West Shore Hospital was No. 13 on the list.

Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital's Transitional Care Unit was awarded the highest rating possible from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Five-Star Quality Rating System. Out of more than 600 hospitals and facilities surveyed in Pennsylvania, the transitional care unit was one of only 150 to earn the five-star distinction. Penn State Hershey Rehabilitation Hospital is a joint venture between Penn State Hershey Medical Center and Select Medical. It is affiliated with Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation.

A ribbon-cutting was held for the opening of a new PinnacleHealth spine care center in Hampden Twp. PinnacleHealth also opened a center in Hampden Twp. The centers are opening to meet the growing need for neck and spine care, PinnacleHealth said in a press release. The PinnacleHealth Spine Care Center will offer spine and neck care at the two locations. The new West Shore office is located at The Fredricksen Outpatient Center at 2005 Technology Parkway, Hampden Twp. The new East Shore office is located at the Bloom Outpatient Center, 4310 Londonderry Road, Lower Paxton Twp. Patients can be referred by a physician or can self-refer.
