Oldsmar Days and Nights 2017: What To Know Before You Go

OLDSMAR, FL – For 56 years, Oldsmar has welcomed the beginning of spring in a big way, with the annual Oldsmar Days and Nights festival.

The three-day event, the oldest festival in the city, celebrates everything Olds, from the celebration in Olds Park to an Oldsmobile Classic Car Show. The event is sponsored by the Upper Tampa Bay Chamber of Commerce, which supports businesses in Oldsmar, Citrus Park, Westchase and Town ’N Country. The City of Oldsmar partners with the chamber to put on Oldsmar Days and Nights.

Here’s what area residents need to know before you go to the 2017 Oldsmar Days and Nights festival:

Dates and Times

The 2017 Oldsmar Days and Nights Festival is set to take place from Friday, March 31 to Sunday, April 2 at the following times:

• Friday, March 31: 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
• Saturday, April 1: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.
• Sunday, April 2: Noon to 7 p.m.

Location

Oldsmar Days and Nights takes place at R.E. Olds Park, 107 Shore Drive W., Oldsmar.

Tickets

General admission to Oldsmar Days and Nights 2017 is free. A limited number of tickets to the VIP Section are available. VIP tickets for Friday and Saturday are $40 and include food from Amici’s Catered Cuisine from 6 to 9 p.m., 4 drink tickets and access to the VIP area from 6 to 11 p.m. Sunday VIP tickets are $30 and include VIP seating and four drink tickets from 4 to 7 p.m.

All-you-can-ride carnival wristband tickets are also available for Oldsmar Days and Nights. Wristbands are $50 for the entire weekend, $20 for Friday only, $25 for Saturday and $20 for Sunday.

Oldsmar Days Parade

The longest-running event of Oldsmar Days and Nights is the Oldsmar Days Parade, which has been a staple of all of its 56 years of existence. Aside from traditional parade floats, the Oldsmar Days Parade also features more than 100 classic Oldsmobiles from around the country. The parade will travel on State Street, Park Boulevard, St. Petersburg Drive, Bayview Boulevard, Shore Drive and Lafayette Boulevard.

Car shows

Oldsmar Days and Nights features two different car shows. The Oldsmobile Classic Car Show starts at noon on Saturday, April 1 on the West Lawn of Olds Park. Prizes will be awarded at 2 p.m. The All-Comers Classic Car Show, which includes classics and hot rods, is scheduled for Sunday, April 2 at noon.

Local music acts will perform throughout the 2017 Oldsmar Days and Nights festival. This year’s scheduled acts are:

• 6 p.m. – Fire and Ice
• 8 p.m. – Jonathan Rocks
• 8:30 p.m. – Stormbringer

April 2

• Noon – The Mak Brothers
• 2 p.m. – The Outpatients
• 4:30 p.m. – The Black Honkeys

Wing Wars X

For the 10th year, the Oldsmar Days and Nights will feature Wing Wars, a fierce chicken-wing cook-off featuring several of the area’s famed restaurants. The contest will take place on Sunday, April 2 at 2 p.m. The awards ceremonies for Wing Wars X will follow at 4:20 p.m.

For more hot wing entertainment, there is also a Hot Wing Challenge, sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings, that takes place on Saturday, April 1 at 7 p.m.

Entertainment and Food

Aside from the scheduled entertainment, the 2017 Oldsmar Days and Nights festival features several day-long attractions, which are open as soon as the gates open. These attractions include the carnival and midway, the Arts & Crafts Show and exhibits, a Food Court and the Budweiser Beer Garden. Last call in the Budweiser Beer Garden is 30 minutes before the festival closes each night.
