Two Charlotte-area economic developers and another who has left the region have been named among the top 50 in their field.
Kati Hynes of the Charlotte Chamber and Vanessa Goeschl of the Charlotte Regional Partnership are among North America’s 2017 Top 50 Economic Developers.
Former RowanWorks Executive Director Robert Van Geons, who’s now CEO at the Fayetteville-Cumberland County Economic Development Corp., also received the award from Consultant Connect, an industry agency that works to connect economic developers with site consultants.
“Each of the leaders represented on this year’s list are beyond deserving of this recognition for their efforts in building our communities,” says Ron Kitchens, managing partner at Consultant Connect.
Hynes, vice president of economic growth at the chamber, is credited with bringing Sealed Air Corp. (NYSE: SEE) to Charlotte.
Goeschl, who now manages the economic development division at the Charlotte Regional Partnership, joined the partnership in 2003 as research director.
Van Geons took over in Fayetteville on Jan. 1.
