Brian Smith Joins Hireology’s Board of Directors

Leading Provider of Employee Hiring Technology Appoints Former CEO of Bluestem Brands to its Board of Directors to Help Manage Rapid Company Growth

CHICAGO--()--Hireology, the leading provider of employee selection management technology, has appointed Brian Smith to its board of directors. In this role, Smith will bring a unique perspective to the company, with a focus on helping the high-growth startup effectively achieve the next phase of its development.

Smith is most recognized for his achievements as co-founder and CEO of Bluestem Brands, Inc., which was acquired by Capmark Financial in 2014. Through organic growth the company earned $17 million in revenue in its first year and within five years had generated more than $450 million in sales. When Smith left the company, it was achieving more than $1 billion in revenue and was highly profitable.

Prior to Bluestem Brands, Smith spent two years leading Lenders Trust, a startup consumer finance platform, and spent 15 years at U.S. Bancorp, where he was Executive Vice President of Consumer Banking. With his background in building profitable, growing businesses, Brian brings with him expertise in raising debt and equity capital, hiring and developing executive management teams, managing rapid growth and creating high-performing organizations. He also serves or has served on the board of directors for iPay Technology; Minntex; Conversant; Bluestem Brands, Inc.; Boundary Waters Brands; SquareTrade and Venminder.
