Intuit Inc. (INTU) Leaped To A 3-Month High After Unexpected Q1 Profit

Intuit Inc. (INTU) reported first quarter EPS of $0.09 after the close Thursday, compared to the loss of $0.11 in the previous year. Analysts expected a loss of 0.04. The company expects to report second quarter EPS of $0.17 to $0.20 and between $3.45 and $3.50 for the full year. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $0.05 and $3.43.

Intuit gapped open sharply higher Friday, but retreated during the first half hour of trade, before settling into a range. The stock finished up by 5.78 at $103.20 on strong volume. Intuit jumped to a 3-month high.
