Where to 'Shop Small' In Tampa Bay

Small Business Saturday is Nov. 28.

Tampa Bay area residents hoping to cash in on the savings small businesses are offering as the holiday season kicks off will get their chance to do so Saturday.

November 28 is the official Small Business Saturday observance, sponsored by American Express. The national movement puts a spotlight on local mom-and-pop stores. The movement began in 2010 as a way to encourage “people across the country to support small, local businesses,” American Express explained on the event’s website.

Since 2010, Small Business Saturday has continued to grow in support. Last year, an estimated $14.3 billion was spent during the promotion at small, independent retailers across the country, American Express states.
