Five senior executives of PepsiCo India resigned from the company due to change in the corporate strategy, according to media reports.

Sources named the five senior executives who reportedly are Ruchira Jaitley, senior director and category marketing head social beverages; Vidur Vyas, senior director, GNG marketing and beverage innovation; Rajiv Mathrani, director and category marketing head-snacks, Pallav Patni, commercial finance head; and Kinjal Choudhary, senior director, human resources. They are alleged to have put in their papers.

A month ago, three senior executives had reportdly resigned from the company due to company's Power of One (PO1) strategy. The three executives included TSR Murali, executive director of PepsiCo, R&D; Meghnad Mitra, senior director, planning strategy; and Sunil Duggal, director of corporate affairs.

PepsiCo's Power of One (PO1) strategy which is the reason behind the resignation of so many executives is a merger between their food and beverages business. According to media reports, this merger was made in order to sell food and beverages as part of a single portfolio in order to compete with its rival company Coca Cola.

Criticising the new strategy, a senior executive said, "The new strategy puts tremendous pressure on executives. Beverage experts now have to sell snacks and beverages both. Similarly, senior executives with large portfolios have suddenly seen their roles shrink", he added.

D Shivkumar, chairman and CEO, PepsiCo India said that the company's retail industry is facing attrition of around 40% and in general it is facing an attrition of around 15-20%.

Media reports say that post resignation, Vidur Vyas has joined the messaging platform Hike as vice president. Rajiv Mathrani has joined as chief brand officer in Airtel. While Pallav Patni has moved to Kellogg's India, Kinjal Choudhary has joined Amazon India as the human resources director and head.
