Stock market update: Over 10 stocks hit 52-week highs on NSE

NEW DELHI: Over 10 stocks including Avenue Supermarts, GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Infosys and Intellect Design Arena hit 52-week highs on NSE during Wednesday's trade.

As per PTI, Avenue Supermarts, the operator of retail chain D-Mart, closed Tuesday's trading session with over Rs 1 lakh crore market capitalisation mark.

MM Forgings, NRB Bearing, Page Industries, Quess Corp, RBL Bank and Tata Elxsi also appeared among stocks that touched 52-week highs on NSE today.

Shares of Page Industries got traction after it said in a BSE filing on Tuesday that its license agreement with Jockey International has been extended till 31 December 2040.

Equity markets were in the green as investors' optimism level was lifted by firm IIP data.

Industrial production in India picked up pace in April, starting the new financial year on a stronger note, with all three major sectors - manufacturing, mining and electricity - contributing to the recovery.

Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was up 27 points at 10,870, while the BSE Sensex was up 113 points at 35,805 around 10:55 am.

An all-clear from the USFDA to Sun Pharmaceuticals' Halol plant in Gujarat drove the stock up 3 per cent on Wednesday.

The clearance brought to an end a two-year import ban the US drug regulator had imposed on the plant over quality control issues.
