Flir Systems Q2 Profit Rises, Backs 2015 Outlook - Quick Facts

Flir Systems, Inc. (FLIR) reported that second-quarter net earnings grew to $50.50 million or $0.36 per share from $44.76 million or $0.31 per share in the prior-year quarter, which included $0.02 per share of restructuring charges.

On average, nine analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to report earnings of $0.37 per share for the quarter. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The manufacturer of thermal imaging, and other sensing products and systems said quarterly revenues increased 6 percent to $392.98 million from $369.38 million in the same quarter last year. Analysts estimated revenues of $378.41 million for the quarter. Revenues grew 12 percent on a constant-currency basis.

Looking ahead to fiscal 2015, the company continues to expect adjusted earnings in a range of $1.60 to $1.70 per share, on projected revenues between $1.55 billion and $1.6 billion. Street is currently looking for full-year 2015 earnings of $1.66 per share on annual revenues of $1.56 billion.

The board has also declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.11 per share, payable September 4 to shareholders of record as of close of business on August 21, 2015.
