Eaton Corp. gives $133,000 to groups

Power management company Eaton on Wednesday announced “Powering Communities Grants” totaling $133,000 to support community organizations in the Van Wert area. The donations will be used to enhance various programs and organizations that positively affect the lives of citizens throughout the region.

Building on Eaton’s tradition of corporate citizenship, “Powering Communities Grants” help improve the quality of life in communities where Eaton employees live, work, and volunteer.

“Giving back to the communities where we work is a core value of the Eaton culture,” said Chris Bauer, senior HR generalist at Eaton’s Van Wert facility. “These great organizations foster education and improve the quality of life for many citizens in the area – we’re proud to play a part in their important work.”

Funding recipients include:

  • American Red Cross of Van Wert County – $26,000
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters of Mercer, Auglaize & Van Wert Counties – $6,500
  • Junior Achievement – $8,000
  • Library Enrichment Foundation of the Brumback Library – $5,500
  • Van Wert Blessings in a Backpack – $15,000
  • Van Wert City/County D.A.R.E. – $17,000
  • Van Wert County Foundation (Van Wert Fire Department) – $25,000
  • Van Wert County Council on Aging – $10,000
  • YMCA of Van Wert County – $20,000
