Manitowoc Lutheran cruises past SMC

MANITOWOC - Emily Behnke helped carry the top-seeded Manitowoc Lutheran girls basketball team past No. 9 St. Mary Catholic Friday 67-41.

Behnke scored a team-high 17 points as the Lancers got the win in the WIAA Division 4 regional semifinal.

Also in double figures for Lutheran was Allison Menges (11).

The Lancers host No. 4 Mishicot Saturday in the regional final.

Mishicot 75, Manawa 49: Hannah Sweetman’s game-high 27 points and seven 3-pointers sparked the No. 4 Indians to the lopsided D4 regional semifinal win.

Three other Mishicot players reached double figures, as Brianna Groelle and Karly Ayotte notched 13 and Andrea Peterson 12.

The Indians visit No. 1 Manitowoc Lutheran Saturday for the regional championship.
