Nutrisystem CEO Dawn Zier Named Chair of the American Heart Association 2017 Go Red For Women Initiative in Philadelphia

Nutrisystem (NASDAQ: NTRI), a leading provider of weight management products and services, today announced that CEO Dawn Zier has been named 2017 Chair of the American Heart Association (AHA) Go Red For Women Initiative in Philadelphia. Zier will lead a committee of Philadelphia-based executives who will help to raise awareness for and combat heart disease and stroke. The Go Red For Women Initiative makes a passionate call to action for women to live healthier, stronger lives.

“Working in the weight loss industry, it’s nearly impossible not to address the prevalence of heart disease and stroke in women,” said Zier. “The risk of these two diseases affects many of our customers and by championing this cause, we’re doing our part to educate individuals and help them understand the solutions available to decrease that risk. Maintaining a healthy weight is one of those solutions and we’re proud to join the AHA in this effort. ”

“The American Heart Association is thrilled that Dawn Zier will chair Philadelphia’s 2017 Go Red for Women Campaign,” says Laura Hollot, AHA’s Philadelphia Metro Executive Director. “Nutrisystem shares AHA’s dedication to health and wellness for all Americans, and we look forward to Dawn’s leadership.”

Nutrisystem has been a local sponsor of the Go Red For Women initiative for the past two years and will continue this sponsorship in 2016 and 2017. Robin Shallow, Nutrisystem Vice President, Communications, will join the 2016 Go Red Executive Committee.

In addition to its support of the AHA, since 2009 Nutrisystem has been a National Strategic Partner of the American Diabetes Association, and an active participant in the Philadelphia Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. In 2014, the Company became a VIP sponsor and Zier served as co-chair of the Walk.
