FLINT TOWNSHIP, MI – It's an old clothing store for big and tall men, but it's reopening with a new name.
Destination XL Group, Inc., a national retailer of men's plus-size apparel, recently opened a new store in Flint Township, changing over from its former name, Casual Male XL.
The new store will be similar to the old, but will be a more upscale brand by the Canton, Mass.-based Casual Male Retail Group, Inc.
The store – located at 4365 Miller Rd. – caters to “the fashion needs and lifestyles of bigger guys,” according to the company’s website, and is the company’s fifth location in the state of Michigan.
David Levin, president and CEO of Destination XL Group, said that the store caters to a unique population who of have frustrations when shopping for clothes.
“The DXL store is an innovative retail concept built to address our customers’ needs and we are excited to open our latest store in Flint,” he said.
“Our customers seek choices, value, convenience and a unique shopping experience which DXL stores offer. After experiencing the store, over 90 percent of customers say they’ll return to shop Destination XL again so we are confident that our success will be replicated here in Flint.”
Destination XL offers more than 100 brands with selections ranging from private labels to the national brands such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, Michael Kors and Lucky Brand Jeans. Sizes start at 40-inch waist or extra-large, including tall sizes, plus shoe sizes 10-16, in widths up to 4E.
This new store joins the 89 current DXL locations across 34 states.
