Avinash Vashistha, chairman and country managing director of Accenture India, has reportedly resigned from his post. According to an ET report, Vashistha has put in his papers and will serve his term till August end. He joined the company in 2011.
Vashistha helped grow India business four times, and during his tenure Accenture’s employee base in India grew from 60,000 to 1,50,000, the report added.
Vashistha is an industry veteran who founded Tholons, a global strategic advisory firm for outsourcing, research, investment and education, where he served as founder, chairman and CEO. Earlier in his career he founded neoIT, an offshore advisory firm. Prior to that, he led Nortel’s pioneering outsourcing efforts in India.
He holds an engineering degree from IIT Kanpur, a master’s in Computer Science from the University of Alberta and an M.B.A. from Arizona. He is a known thought leader in the industry and co-authored the book, “The Offshore Nation”.
