Small fire reported at Wendy's restaurant in Middletown

A small fire disrupted business Wednesday morning at a Wendy's restaurant in Middletown.

The fire chief said it appears a cigarette set fire to some mulch near{}an electrical service panel. It was put out quickly.

Some smoke from the fire set off the fire alarm inside, forcing the restaurant{}at 62 Valley Road to be evacuated for a short time.

National Grid was called in to check the panel.
