Registration for 2016 Dick's Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon opens September 1: #GameOnPGH
More than 40,000 are expected to participate in weekend of events at the 8th edition; 2016 theme “It’s your game” for the competitor, fundraiser, enthusiast, veteran and team player
Online registration for the 2016 DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon will open on Tuesday, September 1 at 9:00 a.m. EST. More than 40,000 runners are expected to register for the event weekend, scheduled for April 29-May 1, 2016.
This year's theme "It's your game" highlights the runner's journey to race day and the different reasons why people choose to participate in the events. The campaign’s message: "The race is your game - however you decide to play it. As a competitor. A fundraiser. An enthusiast. A veteran. A team player. It’s whatever you want it to be. It’s whatever you make it. It’s your game...Run it. Play it. Own it. Love it."
After registering for the 2016 event, participants are encouraged to share their best "It's Your Game"-face selfie on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to qualify for prizes, including: race weekend VIP packages, training shirts and DICK'S Sporting Goods Bonus Bucks.
The 8th DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon weekend includes events for all ages and abilities including the DICK'S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon, UPMC Health Plan Pittsburgh Half Marathon, FedEx Ground Pittsburgh Marathon Relay, UPMC Health Plan/UPMC Sports Medicine Pittsburgh 5K Run, Toyota of Pittsburgh Kids Marathon, Purina Pro Plan Pittsburgh Pet Walk and Toddler Trot.
