Kurt Angle and Brock Lesnar had one of the most memorable matches in pro-wrestling history at WrestleMania XIX back in 2003.

The scene-stealing — and very scary — moment from the match came when The Beast inexplicably climbed to the top ropes and attempted a moonsault, nearly fracturing his neck in the process when he didn't land the high-flying move correctly.

Although that match remains somewhat synonymous with both of the pro wrestlers' careers, another memory involving the two stands out most with Angle.

When recently speaking with WhatCulture Wrestling, Angle called a highlight of his career, wrestling for New Japan Pro Wrestling with Lesnar demanding to lose his heavyweight championship to him and only him back in 2007. Lesnar was full-fledged into mixed martial arts (MMA) at the time, while Angle was with Total Nonstop Action (TNA) Wrestling.

"Being able to wrestle him over there and win the title from him and make him tap out was a highlight moment for me," Angle said. "I did that before — I think it was SummerSlam, a couple of years prior to that — but it was great to get back in that ring with Brock when he was actually with MMA and I was in TNA.

"I never thought our paths would cross again, but they wanted to take the title off of Brock and Brock said, 'Listen ... I'm not just going to lose to anybody,'" Angle continued. "And they said, 'Well, who will you lose to?' And he said, 'Why don't you get Kurt Angle over here?' It was Brock Lesnar's choice to lose the title to me and I felt honored by it."

Tech Times found this clip of their bout overseas on YouTube.

As part of the WhatCulture Wrestling interview, Angle also mentioned that he, Lesnar and The Big Show were a tight group of friends on the road during his World Wrestling Entertainment days and that if he could wrestle one Superstar in a retirement match, it'd be Daniel Bryan.

"Right now he has to be the best worker in the business," Angle said of Bryan, the former WWE world heavyweight champion, awaiting medical clearance to return to the ring from a neck injury. "I have a lot of respect for the kid and he's become — not by the company's standard, but the fans' standard — he's become the fan favorite."

Another wrestler that Angle regards as a great worker? None other than A.J. Styles. Makes sense.
