Capital One Financial Corp. Q3 Income Climbs 2%

Capital One Financial Corp. (COF) released a profit for its third quarter that advanced from last year.

The company said its bottom line climbed to $1.08 billion, or $1.98 per share. This was higher than $1.06 billion, or $1.86 per share, in last year's third quarter.

Analysts had expected the company to earn $1.94 per share, according figures compiled by Thomson Reuters. Analysts' estimates typically exclude special items.

The company said revenue for the quarter rose 4.6% to $5.90 billion. This was up from $5.64 billion last year.
