Oil producer Denbury Resources Inc. (DNR) Wednesday posted second-quarter net loss of $1.15 billion or $3.28 per share, wider than $55 million or $0.16 per share a year earlier.
Excluding certain items, earnings per-share declined to $0.13 from $0.26 per share in the comparable quarter last year. On average, 18 analysts polled by Thomson Reuters expected the company to earn $0.12 per share. Analysts' estimates typically exclude one-time items.
Total revenues and other income declined to $376.69 million from $672.12 million a year earlier, while 14 analysts had a consensus revenue estimate of $466.53 million.
