TULSA – Aaon Inc. announced that it will join other local donors by contributing $3 million to A Gathering Place for Tulsa. With the donation, Aaon will hold the namesake to the Swing Hill Valley and Bridge. Aaon calls Tulsa home to its headquarters and manufacturing facility.

“We want to be a part of this transformational project in our headquarters’ community. A Gathering Place will be a tremendous asset to the city of Tulsa and its surrounds, enhance the quality of life of area residents, become a significant tourist attraction and provide a substantial positive impact on the local economy,” said Norman H. Asbjornson, president and CEO of Aaon.

The Aaon Swing Hill Valley is an area that will connect through the valley path between the River Parks and Pedestrian Bridge and leads to the Oneok Boathouse. The small bridge behind Swing Hill will be constructed with black locust wood, a very strong and rot-resistant lumber.

Ground will officially be broken on the project on Sept. 20 in the form of a communitywide celebration. The day will feature remarks by Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, Mayor Dewey Bartlett and Tulsa County Commissioner Ron Peters.

Aaon designs, manufactures and sells semi-custom HVAC equipment for use in commercial and residential settings. It operates nearly 1.5 million square feet of office and manufacturing space in Tulsa and Longview, Texas.
