Jiyoon Jang of Palm Desert High School has received another honor, but this time it’s for her golf and her work in the classroom.

Jang has been named an American Junior Golf Association Scholastic Junior All-American by the AJGA. The AJGA annually honors 12 boys and 12 girls with a place on the scholastic team.

Jang, a senior at Palm Desert who will play her college golf at the University of California, has an adjusted GPA of 4.75 at Palm Desert. Jang has been a top player for the Aztecs since she was a freshman and reached the match-play portion of both the U.S. Women’s Amateur and the U.S. Junior Girls national championships in the summer of 2014. In AJGA events this year, she earned one win at The Yang Foundation Junior at Yorba Linda.
