The Android 6.0 Marshmallow update is yet to be made available on flagship smartphones of this year. It is currently available preinstalled on few smartphones like Google Nexus 5X, Google Nexus 6P and HTC One A9. The LG G4 users in Poland and South Korea have received Android 6.0 update. Here is the status update of Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for smartphones from different brands.

Samsung

According to Phone Arena, the Marshmallow update is scheduled to be available for Samsung devices. The Galaxy Note 5 is expected to receive the update next month. In January 2016, the update will be available for Galaxy S6 Edge+, S6 Edge and S6 handsets. In February 2016, the Galaxy Note 4 and Note Edge are expected to receive it. For Galaxy S5, the update will be available by April 2016.

LG

Since the Android M update has been made available for LG G4 users at certain regions, the update is expected to be available soon for its users across the world. LG G3 users in Poland are expected to receive the update by Dec. 16 or 18. The newly released LG V10 and LG Class phones are also likely to receive the update soon.

HTC

The official chart from HTC that shows Android 6.0 roll out status for its handsets reveals that HTC One M9 and HTC One M8 owners will be receiving the newest Android build by the “beginning end of 2015.”

Other handsets that are eligible to receive the update include One M9+, One E9+, One E9, One ME, One E8, One M8 Eye, Butterfly 3, Desire 826, Desire 820 and Desire 816. The Taiwanese company has not revealed the exact timeframe for releasing Android 6.0 OTA update for the aforementioned smartphones.

Motorola

The Moto X Pure Edition (2015), Moto X Style, Moto X Play, Moto G (2015), Moto X Pure Edition (2014), Moto X (2014), Moto G (2014), Moto G LTE (2014), Droid Turbo, Moto MAXX (2014), and Moto Turbo (2014) are the handsets that are officially approved by Motorola to receive the Android 6.0 update. The newly released Droid Turbo 2 and Droid MAXX 2 are also poised to receive the Android 6.0 Marshmallow build.

Sony

Sony too is mum on the exact timeframe of releasing Android 6.0 update for its smartphones. However, it has revealed that the following handsets are eligible to get updated to Android 6.0: Sony Xperia Z5, Z5 Premium, Z5 Compact, Z3+, Z3 Compact, Z2, M5, C5 Ultra, C4 and M4 Aqua.
