Trimble Navigation Acquires Norwegian Vianova Systems

Trimble Navigation Ltd. (TRMB) Wednesday announced the acquisition of Norwegian Building Information Modeling company Vianova Systems AS. The financial terms of the deal were not revealed.

Vianova Systems develops software for advanced Building Information Modeling technology for the civil engineering market and infrastructure lifecycle management.

The acquisition is expected to help Trimble's Connected Site portfolio.The acquisition includes the vianova's wholly-owned operations in Norway, Sweden and Denmark, and partly owned subsidiaries in Benelux and France.

The U.S. Commerce Department is preparing to fund $6.1 billion to US chip maker Micron Technology Inc. as part of the Government's plan to boost domestic semiconductor production, Bloomberg reported citing people familiar with the matter. The award is yet to get final approval, and will be revealed next week. In pre-market activity on the Nasdaq, Micron shares were gaining around 2 percent.
