Some of you might remember our previous report regarding the leaked specs of some affordable, mid-range Lumia smartphones that were expected to make their debut this fall.

The smartphones in question were previously leaked as Honjo, Saana, Guilin and Saimaa, but recently they popped up online as Lumia 550, Lumia 650, Lumia 750 and Lumia 850.

The specs of at least three of these devices (Lumia 550, Lumia 750 and Lumia 850) leaked online last week, but according to sources familiar with Microsoft's plans, all of them have been canceled.

Today, the same sources claim that at least the Lumia 850, also known as Saana, has been given the green light and will eventually be released on the market sometime next year.

This would be the second mid-range Windows Phone handset that Microsoft plans to launch next year, since the Saimaa hasn't been canceled and is likely to be another smartphone in the 6xx series.

According to WindowsCentral, the Saana phone has been recently un-canceled and is said to be a Lumia 830 successor, hence the possible Lumia 850 market name.

It might go official as early as Q1 2016

Its specs already leaked on the web last week, but Microsoft might make changes by the time the smartphone gets officially unveiled. Either way, here is a quick recap of what the Lumia 850 has to offer in terms of specs.

Microsoft Lumia 850 is said to pack a 5-inch HD (720p) display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It will be powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor paired with an Adreno 306 graphics processing unit and 1GB of RAM.

On the inside, Lumia 850 will pack 16GB of internal memory and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 128GB).

Also, it will come with a 10-megapixel PureView camera on the back, which features Carl Zeiss optics, LED flash and video recording, as well as a secondary 5-megapixel camera in the front.

Connectivity-wise, it comes with 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB 2.0 and GPS with AGPS support, and it will be powered by a 2,650 mAh battery.
