AT&T tower

Presidents once talked over the Echo Foxtrot network, one of whose antennas was once mounted to a mast atop the 290-feet tall AT&T microwave tower on Zion Hill Road.

Last week’s column introduced AT&T’s giant microwave tower southeast of Seguin on Zion Hill Road.

The two-story building at the base of the tower includes a basement and is windowless. That’s because it was constructed during the cold war when fear of a nuclear war was very real.
