Equipment problems have caused a scattered power outages in the Detroit region on Monday afternoon as temperatures lingered in the low-90s.

The largest outage was in Oakland County’s Walled Lake, where power went out at 2:12 p.m. for 1,805 homes and businesses. The cause, according to DTE Energy’s Outage Map, was an equipment problem, and power was expected to be restored by 7:30 p.m. Monday.

The area impacted is west of the Maple Road and Haggerty Road intersection.

Other outages include:

* 210 customers lost power at 3:37 p.m. Monday in Orion Township, along Baldwin Road south of Waldon Road. The cause was under investigation at 4 p.m. and saw an early estimated restoration of 9 p.m. Monday.

* 790 customers lost power in Harper Woods at 2:09 p.m. due to an equipment problem, and there was no estimated restoration as of 4:15 p.m. Monday. The area impacted is along Beaconsfield Street north and south of Grayton Street.

* 322 outages occurred in Dearborn Heights east of Telegraph Road and south of Ford Road, lost at 3:42 p.m. Monday and expected back by 8:45 p.m. The cause is an outage required to safely repair or upgrade equipment.

* 65 outages are reported in the Ortonville area, where power was lost at 1:55 p.m. Monday and could be restored by 7:15 p.m. The area impacted was south of Grange Hall Road and Ortonville Road.

* 34 outages are west of Lake Orion near Sashabaw Road. Power was lost at 1 p.m. and could be restored by 6:15 p.m. Monday.

* 134 homes and businesses lost power at 1:38 p.m. Monday in Southfield, south of 696 and 11 Mile Road and west of Southfield Road. While the other outages have been due to equipment problems, this is listed by DTE Energy as an “outage due to high electrical demand.”

* 269 customers lost power in New Haven at 4:17 p.m. Monday, and the early estimate was for restoration at 9:30 p.m. This also was an equipment problem. The area impacted was north of 26 Mile Road (or Marine City Highway) between M-19 (Gratiot Avenue) and I-94.

* 151 outages occurred in Westland at 12:02 p.m. and could be back by 5:15 p.m. Monday, due to “high electrical demand.”

* 76 outages occurred at 3:49 p.m. in Romulus just west of Metro Airport, starting at 3:49 p.m. and expected to be restored at 9 p.m. The cause is under investigation.

* 391 homes and businesses lost power at 1:05 p.m. Monday just east of Woodhaven along Fort Street near West Road. It could be restored by 6:30 p.m., DTE Energy says.

* 1,337 customers were without power at 3:22 p.m. west of Flat Rock along Telegraph Road south of West Huron River Drive.

A heat advisory was to last until 6 p.m. Monday as highs creeped into the lower 90s. With humidity, it has felt like nearly 100 degrees.

According to Accuweather.com, it was 89 degrees at 4 p.m. and was to be 88 degrees at 5 p.m. and no fall to 80 degrees until 9 pm. Storms were expected to pass through the area between 5 and 7 p.m. Monday evening.
