A man somehow managed to retrieve his GoPro camera and lived to tell the tale - after he dropped it into a bed of rattlesnakes .
Thankfully, the camera was working throughout and managed to capture the whole tense incident on film.
In the video, the GoPro gets so close to the snakes that several reptiles strike out at the device in anger.
But moments later, things get much worse when the camera suddenly tumbles into the rattlesnakes' nest.
A few of the snakes investigate the new addition to their surroundings before deciding it is not directly harmful to them and leaving well alone.
However, it is unclear how the man managed to retrieve the camera and post the footage online.
One viewer wrote: "Retrieving your GoPro was really impressive. I wouldn't have gone near that place.
"AND this video made me scream out loud twice."
The video, which was uploaded to YouTube by Michael Delaney, has already had more than 22,600 views since October 9.
