Commack School District Overtaxes its Homeowners

So the long awaited NYS Comptroller Audit of the Commack School District is now public and it does not look good for the taxpayers of the district. Click the link below to view the entire report. Please read the district response on the district website which is ludicrous, they must think Commack’s residents are complete idiots! If you lie and tell residents you need $181 million but only truly need $172 million, how did you save the district 9 million if you only spent the $172 million you actually needed. Is this the new common core math they are teaching our kids??? The district is making every household pay $200-300 more each year in unnecessary taxes for non existent services instead of paying true increases as needed. If you have moved out of the district or plan on moving you don’t get your several hundred (perhaps thousands) of pre paid money back. It’s also convenient for the district to have extra multi millions around to just throw at huge raises since it’s just sitting around no one misses it or questions it.The next BOE meeting is this Thursday August 6th @ 8 PM - Commack High School. Come speak directly to the perpetrators of the scheme, voice your displeasure and call for resignations.
